Task Force V: Security Sector Reform and Human Security Issues

Kharkiv group on human rights protection was defined the leading non – governmental organization within the activity of this Task Force.

Task Force V: Security Sector Reform and Human Security Issues seeks to facilitate civil society’s engagement in human security oversight.  The activity of this Task Force gives the possibility to cooperate with Ukrainian NGOs and representatives of the special services as well in order to explore the possibilities for civil society’s involvement in declassifying the archives including through assisting in drafting of relevant legislation to motivating officials for opening certain types of documents and guaranteeing of transparency through ensuring public access to the released archival materials. The Task Force could also play wider roles in assisting Ukraine in getting rid of the Soviet legacies.
